The Shapers of our Future

Image
A lot of children these days are getting forced to do hard labor, and it saddens me to hear that they don’t get to live a normal life, especially since they might not even have time anymore to go to school and make friends, and they get to experience reality this young. Forced labor breaks multiple rights of a child which are; the right to relax and play, the right to education, the right to protection and several more. This November, I just want people to remember and realize the importance of children’s rights and their effects if not given to a child, because as innocent some of them are now we shouldn’t let them experience the adult understanding of “reality”, give them proper care, food, shelter and clothing, give them the rights to education, give them the protection from harm, human trafficking, give them time to relax and play, and most of all give them the love they deserve. Because what we make them feel now is what they will make others feel in the future, g...

The Revitalization of Our Wandering Star

Image
Earth has been in danger for the past few decades, mainly because of the actions and deeds of human beings, our irresponsibility lead to the destruction, exploitation and extinction of several natural resources, not only this, but the usage of cigarettes, factories and smoke-emitting vehicles lead to the depletion of our ozone layer, the depletion of this barrier may lead to global warming. It isn’t too late yet, let us act immediately, it’s not that difficult to save the world, we can do this through simple things like putting our garbage in the right bin, using the 3r’s (reduce, reuse, and recycle), diminishing the use of plastics and styrofoams, by watering and taking care of plants, by avoiding the burning of our trash especially plastics, walking or using bike instead of using vehicles that emit smoke, cleaning the places around us, being a good model to the younger audience to never smoke and to the smokers to quit, participating in environmental activities that our local...

It’s Time for a Rewind

At the beginning of classes in Grade 9, I didn’t know what to expect from the new normal education, I had difficulties trying to comprehend the lessons my teachers gave me, because of the lack of guidance and the overall classroom atmosphere, it was a very stressful and lonely experience, although I still gained a lot of knowledge and ideas in the teaching-learning system we had. Now in the first months of Grade 10, I already have experiences from the previous year, now I knew what to expect and what’s to come.   The first quarter of my final Junior High School journey was very similar to the ninth grade, having the knowledge and expectations, let’s just say the challenges were a bit lighter this time around. In this year Google Meets and consultations were a lot more common, giving us a great head-start on what to expect from a lesson, our teachers also gave us more time to do our work, by extending their deadlines, and the workload and tasks they gave were a bit easier...

September 15, 2021 Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte Malacañang Palace,  San Miguel, Manila Dear President Duterte,                          A lovely day to you sir president, I am sending you this letter because I want to tell you how grateful I am to be a Filipino citizen in your term of presidency, I also want to express my issues and concerns during your term as the Philippine president.           First thing’s first, I am pleased that your War on Drugs is turning out quite well, even though the drugs in the country isn’t fully gone, your administration still did quite well, but you should know that violent isn’t always the best choice in winning wars, this war is no exception, instead of guns and blood, you could also conduct guidance programs that aims to alter the perceptions of reality of drug addicts for the better.       ...

An Illuminating Light, Amidst the Darkest Day

The outbreak of the COVID-19 Virus has affected every single  part of the world drastically, taking down a lot of businesses,  causing economic crisis to multiple countries in the world,  giving rise to the unemployment rate of almost every single  c ountry in the world, worsened world hunger and also  unfortunately has greatly affected the quality of our current  education.   The virus led to the shutting down of schools globally, as a result, education has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. Let me clarify that e-learning or online learning isn’t as fun and as pleasant as face to face learning, in face to face learning there is more interaction between the learner and the teacher, more interaction between learners and their fellow learners, and more memorable overall, while online learning is very safe, it doesn’t offer much to the table, it requiring e...

Birds singing melodies, branches crackling and leaves rustling, settling down in the balcony sipping lukewarm white coffee watching the flaming sphere rise, this is my ideal morning to start a great day. Oh, my bad! I haven’t introduced myself yet, the name’s Ryan Matthew Reyes Vera Cruz, you may call me Matt or Ram, I am currently 15 years old, I am my hobbies are playing video games with my friends and the boys and listening to music, my favorite color is orange, because it reminds me of the bright burning passion of hope that the sun brings, and it inspires me to ignite as bright.  We just scratched the surface, there is much more to learn about me! I am not going to lie, but I am awful at socializing with random people, that’s why I tend to get nervous and forget what I am saying, I love to learn and study topics about science and computers, I find them very interesting! I am not really that good in arithmetic equations and speaking in tagalog, but I will always try to do my ...

Back in the very beginning of 2020 when the virus was still finding its way to our country, we Filipinos lived in peace and harmony, we were so careless back then, we could still go outside and enjoy our normal life, go to school or work without wearing annoying masks, go to dine in restaurants without safety protocols, go visit our cousins, our friends, or even have sleepovers with them. Our quality of education also has been affected greatly, requiring cellphones and other mobile gadgets with high-speed connectivity to attend online classes, this makes our online classes at the current time inaccessible for some and that is unfair.   As bad our current predicament of the pandemic is, it still can be solved, and the solution to this issue is just very simple, we should unite as one, follow the quarantine restrictions, follow the safety protocols, maintain and observe social distancing, stay at home and only go outside if necessary and let us always remember and remind t...
